Families in southern Lebanon on border with Israel relocate as rocket exchanges continue across the border

Cross-border attacks between Hezbollah in Lebanon and Israeli forces killed four Lebanese civilians in one family on Sunday. The IDF said at least one Israeli civilian was killed as well. These exchanges of fire have continued for weeks. As a precaution, thousands of Lebanese civilians have moved out of their homes in southern Lebanon. How Hezbollah developed a powerful military and political prowess in Lebanon

Hezbollah emerged during Lebanon’s civil war with the intention of ending Israel’s occupation of southern Lebanon. With the backing of Iran, it has become the strongest military force in Lebanon, and one of the strongest militias in the region. But the group also has a political wing and charitable activities. Four decades after its founding, some say that it is a state within a state.
